Prerequisites for Tandem Skydiving

Parachutists need a reasonable standard of physical fitness and must not be overweight in relation to their height.

Please note that the minimum age for parachuting is 16 and the maximum weight is 15 stones (89 kg) and not overweight for your height.  The maximum age for Tandem Skydiving is 70. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian (BPA Form 106) and anyone 40 or over must have a British Parachute Association Parachutist Declaration of Fitness Medical Certificate Form 114a or 115 signed by a doctor.  If  either of these conditions apply to you, please phone the Centre and we will forward the necessary forms.  We MUST have the completed consent/medical prior to the Tandem Skydive. Please note that one of our minimum fitness requirements is that the participant must be able to lift their knees to their chest unaided. Please note that the minimum age for parachuting is 16 and the maximum age is 70. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian.

Anyone with the following conditions also must have a British Parachute Association Medicacal Form Medical Certificate Form 115 signed by a doctor.

Epilepsy, fits, severe head injury, recurrent blackouts or giddiness, disease of the brain or nervous system, high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, recurrent weakness or dislocation of any limb, diabetes, mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction, previous fractures, back strain, arthritis and severe joint sprains, chronic bronchitis, asthma, rheumatic fever, pneumothorax, liver or kidney disease, thyroid, adrenal, or other glandular disorders, chronic ear or sinus disease. Any condition which requires the regular use of drugs. Anaemia. Recent blood donation.

We must have the completed consent/medical prior to commencing the training course.

The MAXIMUM weight is 15 stones (95 kg.) for Tandem skydives and that is relative to your height. See Chart.

Prerequisites for the Solo Parachute Training Course

Parachutists need a reasonable standard of physical fitness and must not be overweight in relation to their height. Please note that the minimum age for parachuting is 16 and the maximum age is 54. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian.

Anyone aged 40 or over, and anyone suffering or who has suffered from the following conditions, must have a Parachute Medical Certificate signed by a doctor.

The MAXIMUM weight is 14.5 stones (90 kg.) for Static Line Solo Jump Course and that has to be relative to your height of over 6 feet. The Minimum Height is 5 feet 2 inches and at least 8 stone. If you are unsure please call the centre on 01948 841111.
